Pour the chocolate topping on top.Ĩ - Cover again and let chill in the fridge until the topping is set - about 3-4 hours (or overnight). Check the recipe card at the bottom of the post for detailed instructions including exact measurements.ħ - Remove the lazy cake from the fridge and peel back the plastic wrap/foil. Tip - This is just a quick visual overview. Simply crush them up and add them along with the biscuits. Think cookies, pretzels, chocolate chips, crackers, white chocolate, etc. Green tip - This easy chocolate biscuit cake is great for using up any leftover candy you've got lying around in your kitchen cupboards. I like vegan single cream by Alpro because it's super light and creates that gorgeous chocolate ganache texture without the heaviness.Ī lot of lazy cake recipes use heavy cream however I think it's unnecessary and the lighter creams work just as well if not better. They help bring out an intense chocolate flavor.įor the optional, but HIGHLY recommended chocolate topping, I simply mixed more dark chocolate & vegan single cream. I've also added two other optional ingredients - salt & espresso powder. Vanilla extract (optional)- I used pure vanilla extract but you can swap it out for vanilla essence.Cocoa powder - Make sure you are using unsweetened cocoa powder rather than drinking chocolate powder.I recommend granulated or soft brown sugar. 70% dark chocolate - Gives that deep, rich chocolate flavor without making the cake too sweet. It's slightly salted, but you can use either salted or unsalted. Margarine or vegan butter- I used dairy-free butter/margarine spread by the brand Vitalite.Biscuits (cookies) - You can use tea biscuits, digestive biscuits, graham crackers, animal crackers, Marie biscuits, etc. Also a lot of people act like Nintendo was absolutely on fire releasing nothing but masterpieces and some get to the conclussion that since the GC also had a great lineup that should mean when Nintendo is struggling they are at their best, which makes no sense if you remember Amiibo Festival, Ultra Smash, Devil's Third, Mario Party 10 and so on. People really like to bring up stuf flike the online being free as a massive point in favor, but no one ever mentions that there were barely any game with online to use the free online of the damn console, or bring Virtual Console as a flawless incredible feature, but never mention that either the emulation sucked or it lacked basic features like multiplayer on the DS and GBA games, or that the lineup of DS games sucked (only first party games and most of the best games from Nintendo were missing). I have seen some saying "third party support doesn't matter on Nintendo consoles so it's okay" which is bs, even on the N64 or the Wii there is a solid number of great third party titles, let alone the other consoles like SNES, DS, 3DS or GBA. My biggest issue is that I never see any Wii U defender ever bring the fact that the console barely had releases, they just say it had some amazing games and cool features and that's enough to make it one fo the best consoles ever, but since the third party support was so bad you could spent months where the only stuff to look forward was a couple of indie games between Nintendo's own releases, especially on it's first and last year, it was so bad and I don't really think a console with such a bad release schedule could be consider great, but as I said people tend to completely ignore that fact. The main reasons I see people bringing that is because it had a much more lively menu than the Switch, and I agree with that, it's way slower though but it does the job, and it also had a better management of Nintendo's retro lineup, getting the games way faster than the Switch has (even if the emulation wasn't always the best) plus having Wii BC, however I think people then just go beyond that and begin to say nonsense about it: and sometimes trashing on the Switch for no reason to defend it. A few years ago I remember thinking the Wii U was definitely overhated, some people said it was garbage or one of the worst consoles ever despite it having some solid aspects about it that went underapretiated, however now more and more I see on places like Twitter, Youtube or Facebook a lot of people acting like it was some masterpiece of a console that was missunderstood and it was only Nintendo's bad marketing fault that it sold poorly, and that just annoys me, the console is not terrible but I feel people now just comment the good parts about it and completely ignore the bad parts. 21 Ideas for Online Team Building Activities and Games With a clear sense of purpose, employees feel motivated, allowing them to work together to achieve exceptional results for the business. That might be, “okay, how do we handle this, or what’s our vancomycin dosing nomogram look like and things along those lines, and how do you operationalize that? As you move further up that chain, progressing from say supervisors to manager to director and so on, you start to interface more with folks outside of the pharmacy department and looking at how does pharmacy interface with other specialties and groups in order to unify all of healthcare. The closer you are to the clinical side of things, you have more experience in those day to day activities. Each one of those roles has a slightly different scope, but they all kind of focus on the same thing and it is similar to what we were describing. So pharmacy administration, like you said even at the start of the broadcast here, really is a broad sweeping title that covers anything from a supervisor role all the way up to chief pharmacy officer for several-hospital health systems. What would you say, you know being immersed in the field, how would you define pharmacy administration? Lynn: Now pharmacy administration is a pretty broad term. It was really kind of my desire to get to a broad spectrum and at the end of it, I still felt that administration was where I could really make a difference and where my passion truly lies. Things looking at the very clinical aspect of things, whether that was ICU specialty, cardiology focus, and even some experience in the ambulatory care setting. So all through pharmacy school I was exploring the various avenues and options, several of which you guys have talked about even on this program. I felt it would have been a disservice to myself to just kind of go down one path. Michael: I would say it was definitely an interest, it was always there. So you knew from high school you were interested in pharmacy administration, or would you say you were locked into it as you got through pharmacy school? That’s really what drove me in that direction and I landed here. Looking at what I could do with that after graduation, administration was a natural draw, looked at interfacing not only between our clinicians but our patients and then also the operational side of things to draw all of that together and connect those two parties. I thought that was where I could make the most significant impact, in helping everything run smoothly, so that the care for patients was as top notch as possible. As an intern I was able to see that there were opportunities to blend not only operational excellence, but also clinical excellence. I then spent that time interning at the same hospital I initially volunteered at. So I began progressing through undergrad and then grad school at the University of Michigan to get my doctor of pharmacy (PharmD). I found it really was something that I felt quite passionate about and felt I could really make a difference with. I spent time kind of looking at their operations and what they were doing. My path through pharmacy actually started just with volunteering at a hospital pharmacy as a school student. Why don’t you tell us a little bit about your background through pharmacy and how you got to your role in pharmacy administration? So Mike, thank you so much for being on the show with us today. Michael Kosal, who is Pharmacy Operations Manager at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Today we’re going to dig deeper into pharmacy administration with Dr. We’ve already explored one of those roles here on The Nontraditional Pharmacist with a great interview with Anthony Boyd, who was the pharmacy inpatient manager at the Cleveland Clinic. And as you can see, there’s a lot of opportunities available. There’s many positions available for pharmacists and you might be wondering what is pharmacy administration? I actually came across a great article that was featured in APhA, written by Melissa Skelton, and she described pharmacy administration from a basic level that it provides leadership and support to practicing pharmacists in any setting. Now this is a great career for pharmacists to go into mainly because of how diverse of a field it is. Today we are focusing on pharmacy administration. Lynn: Lynn Paterini here with The Nontraditional Pharmacist, part of the Pharmacy Podcast Network. Position: Pharmacy Operations Manager, Ascension Genesys Summary Linear epitopes interact with the paratope based on their primary structure (shape of the protein’s components). These epitopes interact with the paratope based on the 3-D surface features and tertiary structure (overall shape) of the antigen. A conformational epitope is composed of discontinuous sections of the antigen’s amino acid sequence. The epitopes of protein antigens are divided into two categories based on their structures and interaction with the paratope. Some viruses can prevent antigen processing by disrupting movement of MHC within the cell. The endogenous pathway uses MHC class I and binds to cytotoxic T cells, while the exogenous pathway uses MHC class II and binds to helper T cells.Antigen processing may be done through either the endogenous pathway (viral proteins from within an infected cell) or through the exogenous pathway (engulfing a pathogen and isolating its antigen from within the APC).Antigen processing occurs within a cell and results in fragmentation of proteins, association of the fragments with MHC molecules, and expression of the peptide -MHC molecules at the cell surface where they can be recognized by the T cell receptor on a T cell.Antigenic determinants (epitopes) are divided into conformational epitopes and linear epitopes.Other immune cells like APCs cannot recognize epitopes (only PAMPS and DAMPS). An epitope (also known as an antigenic determinant) is part of an antigen that is recognized by the immune system, specifically by antibodies and B and T cells. |
